EN1090-2 and -3 up to EXC3 incl. Welding, to EXC4 excl. Welding

The EN1090 standard came into force in mid-2014. Aimed at the construction sector, the standard regulates all load-bearing steel and aluminium structures. Deprest is certified:

For steel and stainless steel:

  • EN1090-2 for all executions, incl. welding, up to execution class EXC3
  • EN1090-2 for the first processing up to execution class EXC4 (HD plasma cutting)

 For aluminium:

  • EN1090-3 for all executions, incl. welding, up to execution class EXC3
  • EN1090-3 for the first processing up to execution class EXC4 (HD plasma cutting)

Each time based on to the methods 1, 2, 3a and 3b.

The EN1090 regulation lays down provisions for structural construction products and aims to guarantee the general level of quality for this type of product. The standard imposes quite a few obligations for metal construction workshops such as:

  • material certificate management
  • the calibration of machines, welding stations and measuring devices
  • purchase tracing and tracking
  • welder certificates, WPS/PQR
  • a trained responsible welding coordinator (RWC)
  • 100% visual inspection of the welds

It is comparable to a traditional ISO system, but the welding technique aspect is far more developed. The EN1090 certificate therefore gives an indication of a certain quality level for a construction workshop.

If desired, your project will be delivered with CE marking. You will subsequently receive a declaration of performance (DOP) with the invoice. When asking for a quotation or placing an order, please indicate whether the requested products should bear an EN1090 CE marking
