Surface roughness - Ra value

Surface roughness is an indication of the texture of a surface of metal. Roughness is mostly not desirable in constructions and sheet metal work, because it increases the risk of corrosion. The most common way of indicating roughness is by an Ra value. Deprest can offer you roughnesses for sheets and constructions of Ra 0.8µm.

After some months of slightly decreasing stainless steel prices, prices are going up again. For sheets not yet spectacular, but for tubes and other components, the increases seem to be substantial. Price increases are due to higher nickel prices and a higher dollar rate compared to the euro.
