Job in the spotlight – adjusting chocolate tanks of 31 years old

Deprest adjusted chocolate tanks from 12 to 16,5 tonnes. Large chocolate reservoirs are often installed immediately upon construction of a new building.

Afterwards it is not that easy to replace the existing tanks by new ones.

These tanks were made in 1982 and are 31 years old. It’s obvious that in this particular case the tanks must be of an excellent quality.

Deprest is well-known for its extremely solid tanks. This is another proof of our craftmanship.

A chocolate tank has a lot to endure. The constant circulation of hot water in its jacket can cause damage due to corrosion but also erosion of the material.

This brings us to the danger of the cheaper tanks you can find on the current market. The wall thicknesses might be good in short term. If though after a few years some erosion should occur, a small correction is often not sufficient.

Replacing the tanks was no option so the customer decided to make the tanks higher. This way they would be suitable to fill them with a lot more chocolate.

Enclosed pictures give you an idea of the work at site.

Our employees mainly work in the Deprest workplace but sometimes they have a job outdoors.
