The history of our company.

1936
Armand Deprest starts designing and manufacturing equipment for the food industry.
1939
He starts the construction of his own workshop.
1950
The first stainless steel equipment for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries is produced.
1963
Armand Deprest dies unexpectedly. His wife, Mrs. Lucille Smet, takes over daily management.
1975
Luc Deprest, the family’s youngest son, enters the company.
1988
Luc Deprest becomes the daily manager and makes significant investments. The company’s floor-area increases considerably.
1995
Deprest obtains the certificate according to the standard ISO 9001:1994 for its quality assurance system. It is extended in subsequent years (1998, 2001).
2003
Deprest obtains the quality label according to the new standard ISO 9001:2000.
2004
Extension of the ISO certificate with the standard EN 729-2 for welding.
2008
Werkhuizen Deprest plc is taken over by Peter & Karine Depraetere-De Bie, the owners of Alinco nv (www.alinco.be).
Luc Deprest remains active for a while.
2010
Werkhuizen Deprest is again ISO-certified according to the standard ISO 9001:2008
2013
Deprest is moving to the new building in the Frank Van Dyckelaan in Temse and will immediately invest in 3 important machines: a welding crane, a plasma table and a plate bending machine. Werkhuizen Armand Deprest NV has changed to Deprest NV and the logo will also change.
2016
Deprest adds 1680 m2 to its workshop area. With a height of 18.3 metres, the additional workshop space is suitable for the vertical construction of tanks. In addition, Deprest invested heavily in additional overhead cranes with a capacity of up to 64 tonnes, and a plasma keyhole welding installation, among other machinery.
2019
The investment programme of the past years culminates with the acquisition of a plasma keyhole welding derrick. Since 2013, Deprest has grown at a rapid pace from a workshop where hardly any investment was made for years into a state-of-the-art construction workshop for large and small boiler construction, certified welding work and heavier constructions
