The attached photos show part of a large ducting project recently welded by Deprest.
Given the application (gas at a temperature of 600°C will flow through these pipes), the end customer had set extremely high quality requirements.
The welding was carried out using different techniques and in different stages, but involved primarily submerged arc welding. Very stringent testing procedures were implemented, with 100% success, namely:
- PMI testing for the materials/consumables
- 100% PT test
- 100% ultrasonic testing
