New! Plasma keyhole welding derrick

Our new plasma keyhole welding derrick has been installed and initial tests look promising!

The welding derrick uses the same technology as our existing plasma keyhole welding installation, but has an automatic clamping system with integrated backing and cooling so that a flat or centred plate no longer needs to be spot welded, and just needs to be clamped together before welding.

Flat sheets thus remain straight and flat during welding; the machine produces a perfect continuous weld (for stainless steel, within a range of 2 to 10 mm) in one single pass and works at a very high speed.

The new machine will therefore be used for butt seam and longitudinal seam welding; the machine already in place for circumferential seam welding.

Plasma keyhole welding can be applied to stainless steel from 3 to 10 mm on both the plasma arc column and derrick installations. It is also possible to weld 2 and 3 mm with a soft plasma arc.

The machine will also be used for subcontracting projects. Any potential customer who needs to have work done with it is welcome to ask us for a quotation.

Deprest has a fully equipped workshop with the latest welding technologies, as well as associated approvals and certifications.

We are proud of our workshop - candidates who wish to work with this type of machine are invited to apply.
